Atlanta Area Firm Evolves to Address Elder Care Law

Hurley Elder Care Law Fills Void in Baby Boomer Long-Term Life Planning

Atlanta, GA. (October 31, 2005) –Miles Hurley, a leading Southeastern real estate and estate planning attorney, announced today the broadened focus of his existing law firm to include elder care law. Recognizing that the nation’s elderly population is facing continuous insurance, Medicare, Medicaid changes, increased caregiving needs, and other challenges, Hurley has set out to ease the process associated with long-term care planning.

According to a survey of 1,000 adults conducted by the National Council on Aging and John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance, more Americans worry about paying for long-term care than paying for retirement. The study also indicated that 48 percent of respondents have done little or no long-term care planning. With these statistics in mind, Hurley Elder Care Law sets out to provide comprehensive counsel into the legal aspects of health and long-term planning, public benefits, surrogate decision-making, care giving, tax considerations and other legal issues surrounding the planning and administration of elder care law. Hurley is able to recognize the issues of concern that can potentially arise; thus better plotting the individual’s long-term estate and health-care life plan.

“Many of the essential tasks associated with life-planning and elder care are significantly being ignored by the legal industry,” says Miles Hurley, founder of Hurley Elder Care Law. “We hope to simplify and ease the planning process for our clients. The process helps them avoid the discomfort of thinking of their own frailty and to avoid any legal side effects that may arise.”

Founder Miles Hurley is an authority in tailoring a life roadmap to meet the specific needs of individuals entering their mature years. Prior to starting the firm, Hurley worked as an attorney for firms in both Atlanta and Knoxville, Tennessee for 13 years.
