Michelle Spann Allen, LMSW
Michelle Allen joined Hurley Elder Care Law in 2009 as a Geriatric Care Coordinator, bringing with her 7 years of healthcare and geriatric experience. Michelle now calls Georgia home, but she was born and raised in Western Kentucky. Michelle graduated from Oglethorpe University summa cum laude and then obtained a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia. Michelle is currently licensed in the state of Georgia to practice social work.
Michelle conducts life care-planning assessments and provides counseling and support for seniors and their family members including crisis intervention. She also regularly monitors clients’ conditions and needs related to medical, housing, financial, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual concerns. Michelle helps to chart the roadmap that shows clients how to maximize existing resources and to access additional resources in the community in order to retain dignity, independence and the highest level functional capacity for as long as possible.
Michelle married Scott Allen in 2008 at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Scott is a native of Atlanta and a former social worker; he now teaches Latin at Hillgrove High School in Cobb County. Michelle and Scott are the proud parents of Otis "Little Bits" Allen (the most loving cat in Atlanta).
Michelle is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Georgia Association of Clinical Social Workers, and the Social Work Oncology Group. She enjoys reading, quilting, and playing sports.
